Expedition 2016

WIAdmin, 28. Juni 2016

On June 28th seven new environmental ambassadors will begin a journey to the magical coastal forests of Canada. They will live, breathe, discover and research true wilderness until July 19th. As always, they will share their many adventures and encounters with bears, wolves and elk here in this blog. Julius, Henri, Jannis, Emilia, Caro, Clara and Antonia will be accompanied Kai Andersch (founder of Wilderness International), David MacDonald (Wilderness International Canada), Brigitte Heyduck, as well as the volunteers Miriam, Tobi, Pia und Jette. We will spend the first week at the Strathcona Outdoor Education Centre in order to prepare for life in the wild. After that we will travel up the big Toba River, into the protected wilderness areas “Land of the Grizzlies” and the “Land of the Phantom Flowers”. For the first time in their lives, our environmental ambassadors will live away from civilization and listen to the howling wolves at night. We are especially excited that Yut’xwam (Harold Joe) will accompany us again too. As an elder of the Cowichan Tribe, he will introduce us to indigenous culture and language as well as the respectful use of nature.nl-wskk
